Times Square planning a 'surprise' post-midnight moment after the ball drop

The second ceremony, which begins at 12:04 a.m. on Jan. 1, will see the Times Square Ball (or the “Centennial Ball”) re-lit in the colors of the American flag. The ball will then rise once more above One Times Square. (It will not drop again immediately after, a representative for the Times Square Alliance confirmed.)
