It was a tense few moments at a Sacramento area gas station Friday morning after a car was engulfed in flames right next to the pumps.
The blaze ignited around 11:30 a.m. at a single-story home in the 3200 block of 37th Street, according to Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Justin Sylvia. Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames and rocked by explosions.

The worker, in his 70s, is now in serious condition at a nearby hospital, said Capt. Justin Sylvia, a department spokesman.
