Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph had a huge hand in that success and has rightfully been rewarded with multiple interviews for various head coaching openings. Late Wednesday night, it was confirmed that Joseph would be interviewing with the Ravens after the franchise fired Super Bowl champion John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.

While most Denver Broncos players and coaches are taking some time away from work this week after securing a bye during the first week of the NFL playoffs, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is expected to interview with a handful of NFL teams about their head coaching vacancies.

Last year, Sean Payton lost three members of his coaching staff -- Declan Doyle, John Morton and Chris Banjo -- who left for promotions with other clubs. After going 14-3 and securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC this season, the Denver Broncos are once again in danger of losing coaches to other teams.

The remaining list of experienced candidates thus far connected to the Giants includes Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, former Buccaneers and Falcons coach Raheem Morris, and former Raiders coach and Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce.

Defensive coordinators don’t often get second chances to be head coaches, but the Broncos’ mastermind is deserving of the opportunity.

Joseph's four years in Arizona (2019-2022) were spent under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Together, they finished with a 28-37-1 record and one playoff appearance. When he arrived in Arizona, Joseph inherited a unit that ranked No. 26 in points allowed the previous year. By his final year, they had improved to No. 11.

Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, both of whom have previous head coaching experience, are lukewarm co-favorites to land the gig at +500 odds, but there’s really nothing separating them from the rest of the leading candidates.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is slated to meet with the team on Thursday. Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s interview is set for Friday.
